San Diego Photographer Amy Wise Bacis to Showcase Work at Point Break Café

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA (April 13, 2009) – Point Break Café, a Shelter Island favorite since 2004, has announced that it will host a special reception for San Diego photographer, Amy Wise-Bacis on the evening of Friday, April 24th.  The Evening of Art, will feature select work from Amy’s San Diego collection.

“It has been a passion of mine over the years to support local artists by featuring their artwork on the restaurant’s walls,” says Point Break owner Kevin Lewis.  “Hosting an artist reception like this one is just one more way Point Break can support these talented artists.”

The Evening of Art is open to the public and will give visitors an opportunity to meet the artist, enjoy signature Point Break fare, and purchase open edition prints.  The restaurant, which normally closes daily at 3:00pm, will reopen at 5:30pm for the special event.

“I’m looking forward to this chance to introduce myself formally to the community and share my work at this special event,” says Amy Wise-Bacis. “Showcasing my coastal San Diego work at Point Break Café presents a great synergistic opportunity.”

Many of the photographs to be featured during the Evening of Art have been on display in the café since March 30th and will remain on exhibit through the spring.

About Amy Wise Bacis.
Amy’s passion in photography began at age 15 with a hand-me-down Minolta that was assembled before she was born, lacked any means of auto focus, and to this day resides securely in her arsenal of photography gear. Her insatiable desire to capture moments, objects, and emotions on a still frame continues to translate into a portfolio that encompasses architecture, landscapes, people, and events.
